Apocalyptic platitudes, tense social conditions, peppered in with appearances of sweaty, big red rubber boots. Everyone's the hero in this commodity-driven nightmare we live through together. "Those of Us" provides a look into the chaos of today's cultural zeitgeist. The exhibition intertwines playful and subversive perspectives on consumerism, institutions, and urbanity, featuring the gallery's current portfolio artists, friends, and emerging collaborators.
At the crux of "Those of Us" lies a deliberate movement towards tension: between the individual and collective, institution and iconoclastic, past and present; a gesture to the in-between. It's at these interstices where indifference reaches humanity, probably with a laugh, a cry, and a bit of doom-scrolling along the way.
